Please settle this argument for us: Which MJ song is better, P.Y.T. or The Girl is Mine? These are the hard-hitting questions occupying us in Sofia in the wake of friends leaving (Joslyn, Larry, and Sid, we miss you!) and on the eve of a new government in Bulgaria.
Admit it. It's a tough one.

Decision 2009: P.Y.T. vs The Girl is Mine

This IS tough, but ultimately, I think the answer has to be P.Y.T. It starts off strong with the classic MJ spoken intro ("You're such a P.Y.T. -- Pretty Young Thing"). And I think it clearly follows up with more ridiculousness per minute than does The Girl is Mine. You ask me, TGiM relies too much on the strength of Paul McCartney's "ShetoldmethatI'mherforeverlover, youknow, don'tyouremember?"
I'm leaning towards P.Y.T. as well, since it also features the use of the word "tenderoni," and Alvin and the Chipmunks sing backup at the end. I also have to agree with you about TGiM's heavy reliance on McCartney's spoken word, *though* the bridge where Paul sings "I love you more than heeeeee (Take you anywhere)" and then MJ sings "I love you endlessleeeeee (Lovin' we will share)" makes me teeter towards TGiM. The collage of voices is just crazy enough to work. Please revisit and advise. Also is TGiM the first we hear about MJ being "a lover, not a fighter"? And is it enough to beat the gutteral noises (the combined forces of "huah" and heavy breathing) of P.Y.T.?
I think the question is which song better fits a bright red leather jacket covered with a surpluss of needless zippers and a single glittery white glove worn shamelessly with high-water pants and some groovy, groovy loafers. The answer is clearly "P.Y.T."
Hmmm...I DO have to agree with your point about the groovy, groovy loafers...
First, we need to state the obvious: the girl is Paul's.
My vote is for P.Y.T. because I love any song that seeks to make up its own slang. Also, it evokes the strongest junior-high-gym-dance-circle-of-shame response. Not that TGIM doesn't, but I feel like we got a lot of Michael and Paul together--you know, just a couple of sweet, sexually non-threatening guys crooning their way through the Say Say Say video. I know we are talking about Thriller here, but will no one deal with the elephant in the room... his duet with Mick Jagger, State of Shock?

Discuss.
Waaaa??? How have I never heard this?! Sounds like Mick is coaxing MJ to believe. The last, I don't know, 10 seconds, though, with the repetition (Mick's?) of "Look at me" and MJ's orgasmic sigh at the end...wow, I just want to run back to Paul...or would the Jagger-Bowie duo doing "Dancing in the Streets" be more nurturing?
Umm, helllooo...obviously PYT because he is so singing about the girls of Omega Mu. Obvs... PYT is my all time favorite MJ song!
Word. PYT is *the* official song of Omega Mu. Woot woot!
